I got it! I got it!! I got the Ford Family Foundation Scholarship!!!! I came home from school today to find the letter in the mail. As soon as I opened it, I saw the fateful word: "CONGRATULATIONS!" I really believed that there was a big possibility I wouldn't get it - this is such a huge relief! I'm still not 100% sure on all the particulars of what this really entails, but I do know that I'm essentially set for the next four years & possibly grad school after that (as long as I maintain a 3.6 or better). They're having an orientation workshop & awards banquet on June 7th in Eugene & they will also be notifying the local paper in August. Because of the realistic person I am, I couldn't count on something like this to help me through college, but I really did feel like things would fall into place if it were meant to be & now it has, which makes me feel like I am supposed to be doing this.

WOOHOOOO!!!! Congratulations Amanda! I had no doubt that they'd see how special you were the minute they met you, but also knowing how badly you felt the interview went, was a little nervous. I am SO thrilled for you!!
Thanks, you guys are the bomb - I wouldn't have believed things would work out like this if it weren't for you two & the rest of the family's support. Thanks for being such a constant source of encouragement! I love you guys!!
P.S. Kathy - I love your idea about you & Laura taking classes together. You'd both LOVE it!
